- I have a new Cardinal MVP288I in a 486DX-33 on a vanilla Win3.11
- platform over DOS 6.2 . Now using v1.4 flash ROM but had same problem
- w/ v1.2 code.
-
- Using Trumpet Winsock 21f, I get 28.8 connects to my ISP and unix
- account. Both downloads and uploads run at about 3.25 Kbps.
-
- However, when I use a conventional Windows comm program, Microlink, to
- connect to my local BBS, I get 28.8 connects, 3.25 Kbps downloads, but
- my uploads only run at about 2 Kbps. Anyone have any idea why?
-
- I use WFXcomm.drv, FIFO triggers set at 8, a 1024 byte comm buffer and
- a port speed of 57.6 K. My init string results in ARQ/LAPM connects;
- an MNP string doesn't help. I have the latest init-string file for
- Microlink 105g and for the newer MLK201. I'm connecting to a Hayes
- Optima that has been rock steady and reliable in the past; other 28.8
- callers to the same BBS reliably get uploads and downloads at the
- expected 3.2 Kbps.
-
- I've played around with lots of parameters w/ no success and don't
- know wheter to pursue this with MicroLink's author, Steve Leitner, or
- the Cardinal tech people. Before going either of those routes, I
- thought I'd ask here if anyone else has experienced similar problems
- or come up with solutions.
